The wait is over.

After months of speculation, rumours, and mock-ups, the Samsung Galaxy S III has been revealed.

When I initially saw the device, I was drooling over the specs: 4.8 inches, with a 720p Super AMOLED display. A quad-core Exynos processor on board. 8 megapixel camera (rear) and a 1.9 megapixel front facing camera. The list goes on and on. Oh, and add Ice Cream Sandwich with TouchWiz (blech).

However, after much of the hype and hoopla has died, I realized this is almost like when the iPhone 4S was announced. It just looks bland and boring. Hell, in some press pictures, it looks god-awful. Don’t get me wrong – the specs are astounding. But there was no ‘wow’ factor that made me want to immediately purchase this device on launch day.

Oh well. Here’s to hoping the iPhone 5 amazes all of us.
