This is easily the best cover Lisa Lavie has ever done. Rolling in the Deep is an incredibly hard song to sing, with the notes changing from high to low quickly, and she slays it. You can also tell Lavie is really into her performance as well, as she’s very passionate when she sings. My favourite cover she’s done. Check it out below!
After spending a couple of hours carefully reading and soaking in the comments, I’ve narrowed it down.
The winner of two free tickets to see Adele tonight at the Air Canada Centre is….
Multz!! Congratulations! I’m going to send you an email shortly, and you have until 1:00pm to email me back to confirm you can go. If you can’t make it for whatever reason, or do not email me by 1:00pm, I will go down the list and choose the person that came in second.
Thanks to everyone who entered!
And remember, for those that want to watch the concert live while I’m there, I will be live-streaming tonight starting at 7pm! Just visit my Qik page to watch all the action go down!
Yes, you read the title correctly.
In light of the wildly popular and sold-out concert that is taking place this Wednesday, May 18 at the Air Canada Centre, I have scored myself two extra tickets to the Adele show!! They are currently in my Gmail inbox as we speak, and whoever wins these tickets will have the chance to watch Adele perform with my sister and I!
The rules are simple. Once I reach 350 subscribers to this blog (I’m already at 150, so shouldn’t be that hard) or 1000 Twitter followers (I’m already at almost 400), the contest begins. If those conditions are met by midnight tomorrow, I will go through the comments on this specific post, and choose whichever one I think is deserving of the pair of Adele tickets. You can say whatever you want. It honestly doesn’t matter. The whole point is, I just don’t want to take anybody with me to the Adele concert. I actually want to choose someone who is fun, full of energy, and most importantly, a true Adele fan.
Let the comments begin!
One of my very generous friends have given me the opportunity to see the one and only Adele, live in concert at the Air Canada Centre, on May 18, 2011. I will be attending with my sister, and can not wait to see her perform songs from 19 and 21. After seeing Adele perform on MTV Live a couple of months ago (she was two feet in front of us!), I’m curious to see if she can perform under the pressure of a stadium sized venue (compared to where it was supposed to initally be – the Kool Haus). Due to the overwhelming demand, the event was moved to the Air Canada Centre from the Kool Haus, which was an extremely wise decision made on the part of the booking manager.
As usual, I will be streaming the concert live using the Qik app on my Android device, the same way I did at the Brandon Flowers concert last December! Please visit my Qik page on the 18th of May to watch the Adele concert as it unfolds!
It’s safe to say that Jake Barker’s cover of Adele’s Someone Like You is the best one out there on YouTube. Some are calling Jake the next Justin Timberlake, but he doesn’t need that comparison, simply because he is an amazing talent and star in his own right.
This song (and subsequent cover) has a very special meaning to me. My sister is currently battling breast cancer, and it’s covers like these that get me through each and every day.
Arlen, I dedicate this awesome Jake Barker cover to you! ❤
Wow. What a day. For those who missed the Adele concert yesterday, which was free, here are the performances that took place! Me and Zarah were front row!! And here are some pictures for you to enjoy also!! (She performed a five song set – Rolling in the Deep, Someone Like You, Turning Tables, Make You Feel My Love, and Chasing Pavements)
